Description
Book cover done for Marek Cardew. This one took a while I have to say, but I'm quite satisfied witht he results. I learned a lot with this piece, especially with regards to skin tones. Enjoy!

The highlights on the female's chest look a bit weird/too yellow, especially near the right (her left) shoulder.
The outline of the blurred foliage in front of her dress has a weird blurred shadowy edge to it. I think it could be softened up a bit? Looks a bit harsh against the red. The blurred foliage on the left side looks perfect though.
Hand anatomy could use a bit of tweaking.

purplerose: Thanks for your constructive feedback. You have a point about the dress. Depth of field is something I'm still struggling with, I need to find a better balance I think. I'll definitely be practicing that aspect in the future.

chickenfingers: I'm glad you like the portraiture. I'm probably gonna do something new soon, I'm a bit bored of this whole realism thing to be honest. As for that furry area on the lady's dress, that's just an example of how horrid I am in adding patterns and such to clothing, lol. Very good points about those minor tweaks, you're dead on which pretty much everything. With that said, I appreciate the time you took to post the feedback, and I'm glad you like this image despite the flaws.

I might be wrong - I didn't pay much attention to the details in the movie,
The shading on his face stands out but she doesn't as much so, a little too dark but in the overall - minor.

valentine9: Glad you dig the composition, it was fairly challenging making it work as a book cover. You have a point about the skin tones. Sometimes I take them too far, which was the case with this. For example, I consciously added a lot of green hues on the woman's skin, to contrast the red of the dress. Me being me, I went a bit too crazy with it I guess. Thanks for your review
nanno: I'll be honest, I'm not good with dress patterns and such, and I like to avoid those as much as possible. I think it would have worked better if I chose something more simple for her mid-section. It's a mistake I've learned from with this piece. Glad you like this piece regardless
rimete: Good point about the eye, looks like I completely missed that flaw. I think that's what happens if I work for an image to long, I get immune to the mistakes. I don't think I flipped it horizontally neither at any point, which was a big mistake on my part. Having said that, I'm glad you enjoy the piece despite the flaws mentioned.
razpna and sikikoy: Thank you.

Excellent work.
P.S your avatar looks very intriguing!

My only critique would be that the background and overall color could be pushed more towards the orange/brown hues that are part of the Indiana Jones look.

Lots of details here, so little flaws cannot be avoided. The most obvious is possibly the girl's arms that appear little plasticy, especially her left one.
Anyway, splendid altogether. Top mark from me.

but only critique i have is about the shading around the jaw of the female. the color selection makes it seem like she has a beard. besides that... the work is amazing.

The mix of fantasy with accurate forms and colors. The rest is emotions - fabulous ! Very very good.
